I-Remit, Inc.(I-Remit), and Landbank of the Philippines signed a general remittance agreement establishing a distribution and promotion partnership for the OFW Cash Card intended for Overseas Filipinos and their beneficiaries.
Under the agreement, I-Remit will promote Landbank’s OFW Cash Card –- an electronic debit card that can be linked to a Smart mobile phone. Landbank recognizes the extensive network of I-Remit’s offices worldwide and thus, appointed I-Remit to distribute the cash cards distribution to its client-base to its customers.
“This agreement with Landbank will further strengthen our already established cash card services. It also brings convenience to our customers because of the bank’s geographic dispersed branches particularly in the provinces and remote areas,” said Harris Jacildo, president and COO of I-Remit.
Landbank ranks among the top five commercial banks in the country with 343 branches and 777 automated teller machines (ATMs). Jacildo said that the bank’s wide reach and modern banking facilities make it an ideal partner for I-Remit’s remittance programs.
He added that I-Remit is on its way to establish more strategic partnerships with other banks as part of its efforts to further improve the breadth and depth of its remittance services for overseas Filipino workers and their families.
I-Remit is placing high priority in improving its products and services for the convenience of the OFWs and their families. This OFW Cash Card is designed specifically to offer a friendly, flexible, and affordable way for the millions of Filipinos to send money home.
The largest non-bank remittance company continues to expand and strengthen its business through strategic tie-up with banking institutions in the Philippines that will allow it to provide remittance collection services for overseas Filipino workers.
Currently, I-Remit operates in 25 countries and territories worldwide through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, partners and tie-ups
